3sixteen eyewear

3sixteen began the design process for their new line of eyewear almost a year ago. The goal was to create an in house line of eyewear that was sustainable and manufactured to the best of its abilities The SP-01 to SP-04 for Sun Protection came out of a partnership with two small family owned factories in Italy. 

High-quality Italian acetate would be the main ingredient in producing the frames — to provide more depth and a unique design prospective, 3sixteen chose to incorporate a raw and polished finish on substantial 8mm bio-circular acetates. This is featured on the P3 Round SP-01 and the Square SP-02. The faces are polished in a high shine, while the sides and the deep lens bevels are raw finished.  

The lenses featured on are created with nylon lenses made from 39% castor oil, which reduce carbon emissions significantly over standard polycarbonate lenses, all while offering the same Category 3 100% UBA/UVB protection. The frames are optical grade and can be outfitted with prescription lenses.
