Lambswool is the first shearing from a young sheep, taken at around seven months, and it is finer, softer, and less prickly than wool from a subsequent clip because the fibre ends have never been cut before. That is why a lambswool sweater feels the way it does and why the term is worth stating rather than just saying wool. The other decision here is the depth of the neck. A deep V is a layering instruction: it exists to leave room for a collar and a length of shirt front to show, and worn on its own it is simply a low neckline. Cut this way the sweater becomes the middle layer of an outfit rather than the top one. Anthracite melange is the right colour for that, since a melange yarn is spun from fibres dyed in more than one shade before spinning, so the finished knit has a soft mottled depth instead of a flat grey and reads as texture behind a shirt collar.
Why we selected it
Lambswool at this softness and a neck cut deep enough to actually layer are two straightforward things that most V-neck sweaters get wrong.

100% wool, in a soft lambswool. Made in Portugal, in anthracite melange.
Fit notes
Cut to layer, so it takes a shirt underneath comfortably. We do not hold measurements, and there is no Lemaire size chart on this site.
Care
Wool wants airing and brushing far more than washing. Fold it rather than hanging it, wash cool and by hand if at all, and dry flat. Read the moth section before storing it for a season. Our fabric care guide has a section on wool.
