Engineered Garments Andover Pant – Beige Seersucker

Seersucker is made on the loom, not afterwards. Two sets of warp threads run at different tensions, the slack set buckles into permanent puckered stripes, and the taut set stays flat. The consequence for a trouser is more useful than it is for a jacket: only part of the cloth ever touches the leg, so air moves in the gaps, and there is no such thing as a crease because the fabric is already crumpled everywhere by design. A seersucker trouser is the one summer trouser you can sit in for four hours and stand up out of looking the same as when you sat down.

Why we selected it

Linen creases, cotton wilts, and seersucker does neither because it never pretended to be smooth. It is the honest solution to a hot day.

Materials and construction

One hundred percent cotton seersucker, made in the USA. Colour: Beige Seersucker.

Fit notes

Light and airy with a little natural give from the puckered structure, so it moves more easily than a flat cotton of the same weight. It will read rumpled from the first hour, which is the cloth working rather than the trouser failing.

Styling

With the Andover Jacket in the same beige seersucker, which is how the cloth was cut. Or with the Polo Shirt in white, or the Work Shirt in natural, and nothing on top.

Care

Wash cool and hang to dry. Do not iron it: pressing a seersucker flattens the pucker and throws away the only reason to own it. Our cotton care guidance covers the rest.
