Engineered Garments is a New York-based fashion brand known for its utilitarian aesthetic, meticulous attention to detail, and innovative approach to design. Founded by Japanese designer Daiki Suzuki in 1999, the brand’s motto is “not designed, but engineered.” Engineered Garments draws inspiration from vintage workwear, military uniforms, and classic Americana, reimagining traditional garments with a modern twist. 

The brand’s designs are characterized by relaxed silhouettes, rugged fabrics, and utilitarian details, reflecting their commitment to practicality and versatility. Each garment is crafted using the highest quality materials and construction techniques, ensuring durability and longevity. In an interview quoted in Hypebeast, Suzuki, asked if he was responsive to trends, said that he was not. “We make clothing that makes us look good when we try it on.” 

Engineered Garments is one of the brands under Japanese umbrella company Nepenthes, which also owns brands such as Needles, South2West8, and Blank NY.
