A flare and a wide leg are not the same thing. A wide leg is the same width from hip to hem; a flare starts closer and opens as it descends, so the shape is drawn rather than merely roomy. Here the flare is described as sculpted and draping, which is the right distinction: the leg is shaped by how the pleated cloth is cut and released, not by seams pulling it outward, so the widening happens gradually and the trouser keeps a soft edge all the way down. Cropping it means the widest point of the flare is also the hem, which is where the eye stops, so the silhouette resolves at its most generous. The colour, a greyish brown, is deliberately muted and stops all that shape from becoming a spectacle.
Why we selected it
A flare cut from pleated cloth rather than shaped by seams falls in a way a conventional flare does not, and the muted colour keeps it wearable.

Materials and construction
100% polyester, made in Japan, in Greyish Brown. Signature plissé fabric, cropped, wide-leg with a sculpted draping flare, on an elastic waistband.
Fit notes
Cropped, with the leg opening toward the hem. Pleated cloth opens in wearing, so the flare is more pronounced in motion. The elastic waist sits where you put it.
Styling
The crop and the flare together make the ankle and shoe part of the silhouette, so choose the shoe deliberately. Greyish brown is a quiet neutral and takes cream, black, and rust equally.
Care
The pleats are heat-set into the polyester and are permanent, so it washes without losing them. Wash at 30°C or below in a laundry net on a short cycle, or press gently by hand, and never tumble dry, iron, steam, or dry clean. Store it rolled along the direction of the pleats.
