The Game bag is what happens when the Croissant silhouette is rebuilt for weather and for travel. The curve is still there and so is the way it lies along the body, but the material changes everything about how the object behaves. Nylon canvas with a water-repellent finish is light enough that the bag has almost no weight of its own, it packs down rather than holding its shape in a suitcase, and rain runs off it instead of marking it. That makes it the version of this shape you can stop thinking about. The softness is deliberate rather than a compromise; a stiffened nylon bag would look like luggage, and this one keeps the drawn quality of the leather and canvas versions while behaving like a technical piece. One interior pocket. Made in Italy, which is where the better nylon canvas work has been done for decades.
Why we selected it
We wanted a version of this shape that could be taken out in bad weather and packed in a bag, and this is it. The water-repellent finish is the reason, and the low weight is the thing people notice.
Lemaire reworks its own shapes in different materials rather than inventing new ones each season, and the Game is the Croissant line taken into technical cloth.
Materials and construction
100% nylon, in a water-repellent canvas, made in Italy, in ash black. One interior pocket. Worn cross-body or over the shoulder.
Sizing and dimensions
We do not hold measurements. It is the medium of the Game bags and is scaled comparably to the Medium Croissant.
Styling
Ash black is a softer, slightly warmer black than a coated surface gives, so it sits more quietly against wool and denim than a shiny bag does. This is the one to take travelling.
Care
The water-repellent finish is the part to protect, and it is worn down by detergent and by heat rather than by use. Wipe it clean, avoid solvents and household cleaners, and let it dry in air rather than near a radiator. Our fabric care guide covers nylon and technical cloth.
