There is a category of jacket whose whole value is that you are not thinking about it, and this is one. It is lightweight, it is polyester throughout, it zips, and it has a hood. Polyester at one hundred percent is the reason all of that works: it weighs very little, it does not absorb water the way a natural fiber does, it dries fast, and it recovers from being crushed into a bag, which is a set of properties no other single fiber gives you at once. The purple is the only part of it making a claim, and on a plain technical shell a strong color is the correct decision, because a plain shell in a quiet color is invisible and this one is not meant to be.

Why we selected it

The light packable jacket is a category almost entirely occupied by outdoor brands, and almost none of them make one in a color you would choose. This one is otherwise the same object.

The house makes a small number of straightforwardly technical pieces alongside everything else, and this is one of them.

Materials and construction

One hundred percent polyester. Made in Italy. Lightweight, with a zip closure and a hood. Color: Purple.

Fit notes

Sized 48 and 50 on the Italian jacket scale. A lightweight shell is cut to go over other things, so it should be sized for the layer underneath rather than for the body. Polyester has no give, so what you size is what you get.

Styling

Over anything in this collection that will not mind being flattened, which means the knits and the wovens rather than the tweeds: the Knit BD Shirt Western, the Long Sleeve Woven Polo, the Rugby Shirt. With the Mil Pant or the 5 Pocket Denim Black.

Care

Wash cool and gently, and keep it away from heat entirely: no hot iron, no tumble dryer, no radiator. Fabric softener will sit in a technical cloth and reduce what it does. Our care guidance covers the rest.
