A nylon shirt is a deliberately odd object. Nylon is a filament fiber, so the cloth has a faint sheen and a dry, slippery hand, and it moves as one piece rather than breaking into the soft folds a cotton poplin makes. It also holds a shape: flap pockets on a nylon chest stay flat and square instead of softening into the body the way patch pockets on a cotton shirt do within a season. That rigidity is the point. This reads as a shirt built rather than sewn, and it stays looking the way it looked when it was made for far longer than a cotton equivalent will. One hundred percent nylon, black, with an embroidered logo, made in Japan.
Why we selected it
Almost every short-sleeved shirt we are offered is a cotton shirt with the sleeves shortened. This is a different object made of a different material, and it does something none of the others do.
Comme des Garçons Homme will make an ordinary garment in an unexpected cloth and change nothing else, and this shirt is that in one sentence.

Fit notes
Nylon has no give and does not relax, so a nylon shirt is sized on the shoulder and the chest and stays exactly there. It sits away from the body rather than following it, which reads cleaner and runs warmer than cotton in the same weather.
Styling
Under the Homme Wool Jacket or the Homme Black Snap Button Blazer. With the Homme Elastic Waist Black Trouser or the Homme Nylon Trousers, which is nylon on nylon and works because the two weights are different.
Care
Wash cool and never hot, and keep it away from an iron: nylon melts at a temperature a domestic iron reaches easily, and there is no repairing it. Hang to dry, which it does in minutes. Our care guidance covers the rest.
