Issey Miyake Homme Plissé Kersey Pleats Jacket
$1,025.00
Kersey is a dense, heavily woven woolen twill with a long history in workwear and military dress, valued for weight and weather resistance. Naming a polyester cloth after it signals intent: this is a synthetic engineered to carry the substance and the matte, close surface of a traditional woolen rather than the sheen a polyester defaults to. In ivory that ambition is fully exposed, since a pale colour hides nothing about how a cloth handles light, and a synthetic pretending to be wool would be caught out immediately. Pleated and cut as a jacket, it is the lightest possible reading of a heavy cloth.
Why we selected it
A polyester built to behave like a woolen, in a colour that gives it nowhere to hide, is a confident thing to make.
Materials and construction
100% polyester, made in Japan, in ivory. Pleated, and cut as a jacket.
Fit notes
Pleated cloth opens as it is worn, so expect more room in motion than at rest.
Care
The pleats are heat-set into the polyester and are permanent, so it washes without losing them. Wash at 30°C or below in a laundry net on a short cycle, or press gently by hand, and never tumble dry, iron, steam, or dry clean. Store rolled along the direction of the pleats. Our fabric care guide covers polyester and technical cloth.
