A T-shirt is the most solved garment there is, which is why the only decision left in one is the cloth. Linen is an unusual answer to that. It is stiffer than a cotton jersey when new and it softens rather than pills, it conducts heat away from the body instead of trapping it, and it creases the moment it is sat in and then goes on creasing. Those creases are the argument for it rather than against it: a linen tee looks worn in on its second day and then goes on looking that way for years, which is not something a cotton tee manages.

Linen usually arrives as a shirt or a trouser, and a T-shirt is where the fiber is least expected and does the most good. We wanted the plain one, and this is plain.

s.k. manor hill is a New York label built out of vintage garments and traditional tailoring, and a tee is the place in that vocabulary with the least to hide behind.

Natural linen. We do not hold a fiber percentage, a country of origin, or a color for this shirt. Natural on a linen can mean the undyed color of the flax, or it can mean only that the fiber is a natural one, and those are two different answers that we are not going to choose between on your behalf.

Linen has very little recovery. It relaxes into the body across a wearing and stays where it settles rather than springing back, so it will read looser at the end of a day than at the start. Size it on the shoulder and let the rest go where it goes. We do not hold measurements for this shirt. Call the store and someone will measure it against a tee you already own, which is a better answer than a number anyway.

Linen wants washing and does not want pressing. It softens with every wash, and it will crease whatever you do, so wash it cool, dry it flat or on a line, and let the creases be the finish rather than fighting them every morning. Our care guidance covers the rest.
