Swampgod Triangle Bag

The zip is what makes this bag work. It runs around one side rather than across the top, which means the bag opens along its edge instead of at its mouth, and a bag that opens along an edge lies open flat and lets you see everything in it at once. A top-zip bag makes you dig. The rest of the construction follows from that decision: a top handle for carrying it closed in the hand, a shoulder strap for the times you need both hands, and enough structure in the leather to hold the triangular shape the name describes without a frame doing it. It is offered in two leathers, a smooth one and a patched one, and those are not two colors of one thing. A smooth leather is a continuous surface and takes light evenly. A patched leather is joined, which means the seams are visible, the panels take light at slightly different angles, and the bag carries a record of its own assembly on the outside. Choose by which of those two objects you want, because the difference is not cosmetic. One hundred percent leather, black, made in Italy.

Sizing and dimensions

We do not hold measurements for this bag. The record calls it a medium-sized bag and gives no figures. A bag with a top handle and a shoulder strap is built to be carried both ways, which is the practical thing a dimension would tell you and the thing the construction already does. Care

Black leather marks less than pale leather and still marks. Keep it away from heat and damp, condition it sparingly rather than often, and store it stuffed rather than folded. On the patched version, pay attention to the seams, which are where a joined leather takes water in and where conditioner needs to reach. Anything beyond surface cleaning wants a leather specialist.
