Rick Owens Cropped Level T

The proportion is the design. A cropped body with elongated sleeves inverts what a tee normally does: the torso ends early and the arms continue, so the silhouette reads as horizontal at the waist and vertical at the sides at the same time. It is a small thing on paper and an obvious one on a body, and it is why this does not look like a cropped tee from anywhere else.

Dust is the second decision. It is a greyed neutral rather than a colour, and it is the shade this designer returns to most often after black, which is worth knowing if you are choosing between the two.

Why we selected it

We wanted the crop in something other than black, and Dust is the alternative this house actually commits to. The sleeve proportion is what made it worth having twice.

Materials and construction

One hundred percent cotton, made in Italy. Cropped length with elongated sleeves. Colour: Dust.

Fit notes

Cropped above the waist with sleeves cut longer than standard, so the proportion will read as intentional rather than as a sizing error. Cotton jersey relaxes across a day and recovers with washing. Take your usual size; the proportion is in the pattern.

Styling and care

Under either cropped outershirt, with the long sleeves showing past a shorter one. With high-waisted black trousers. Under the Jumbo Tabard Top. For care, wash cool inside out and keep it out of a hot dryer. Our care guidance covers the rest.
