Rick Owens SS26 Cropped Rib Long Sleeve

Raw cut hems and cuffs are the detail here and they are functional as well as aesthetic. An unfinished jersey edge has no turned hem and no stitching, so there is no ridge at the wrist or the waist and the garment ends without adding thickness anywhere. On a cropped, slim piece meant to go underneath other things, that absence is the whole point: it is the layer that does not show through.

Cut in viscose and silk jersey, so it is cool and fluid rather than springy, and it falls close.

Why we selected it

The raw edge and the crop together make this the base layer we reach for, and the viscose and silk blend means it does not behave like a cotton undershirt. That is the reason and it is the only one.

Materials and construction

Eighty-eight percent viscose and twelve percent silk, made in Italy, in black. Slim fit, cropped, long sleeved, with a round neck and raw cut hem and cuffs.

Fit notes

Slim and cropped, so it sits above the waist and close to the body. Raw jersey edges will curl slightly with wear and washing, which is normal and is part of how the finish looks. Viscose and silk has limited recovery and follows the body. Take your usual size.

Styling and care

Under the sleeveless turtleneck, which is the layering order both pieces are built for. Under either cropped outershirt. With high-waisted trousers. For care, hand wash cool and dry flat, and do not wring it. Our care guidance covers the rest.
