Tibi Italian Sporty Nylon Bubble Short

The bubble is what makes this a garment rather than a pair of shorts. Cloth is gathered out through the leg and drawn back in at the hem, which produces a rounded volume that stands away from the body, and from any distance it reads as a short skirt. Up close it is not, and everything a short can do that a skirt cannot still applies: you can sit anywhere, walk anywhere, and go up a staircase without thinking. The cloth is what allows the shape. A sporty Italian technical woven is light, smooth, and structured enough to hold a gather open rather than letting it fall closed, which is the difference between a bubble and a wrinkle. The pockets are real and the closure is a back zip, so the front stays clean.
