Three percent polyurethane in a denim is not there for stretch, or not principally. In this quantity it is a surface treatment as much as a fibre: it changes how the cloth takes light, gives it a faint density and slickness that plain cotton does not have, and it is one of the routes by which this house arrives at denim that does not look like anyone else’s denim.
The colour is the other half. Dinge and Black is a two-tone rather than a single dye, and the effect is that the trouser reads as a used object rather than a new one before it has been worn at all. That is either exactly what you want from denim or the opposite of it, and there is no middle position.
The cut is the house’s Geth: relaxed, draped, and low, drawn to fall away from the leg rather than to follow it. Combine a draped cut with a cloth that has a surface, and the trouser catches light along every fold, which is why it photographs the way it does.
Why we selected it
We take Geth most seasons because it is the cut our customers ask for by name. This is the version with the most going on in the cloth, and it is the one to buy if you already own a plain black pair. The two-tone means it does not need anything else in the outfit.
Materials and construction
Ninety-seven percent cotton and three percent polyurethane. Made in Italy, in Dinge and Black. Relaxed, draped fit. From Spring/Summer 2025.
Fit notes
Relaxed and draped, so it will read considerably fuller than a conventional jean of the same waist. Three percent polyurethane gives a little give but this is not a stretch jean; buy the waist to fit. A coated or treated surface will soften with wear.
Styling
With a boot or a heavy sneaker. With black above, so the two-tone in the trouser is the only variation in the outfit. This is a jean that does not want a patterned shirt.
Care
Wash cool, inside out, and hang to dry. Any surface treatment on a cotton is degraded by heat and by tumbling, so keep them out of a hot dryer if you want the cloth to keep the hand it arrived with. Our care guidance covers the general principles.
